What if my wire gets damaged?
If you know where the break is you can repair it. Be certain to use WATERPROOF connectors.
DO NOT USE ELECTRICAL TAPE, DUCT TAPE OR COMMON HOUSEHOLD WIRE NUTS.
In a pinch you can use waterproof sealant and a wire-nut. simply strip 3/8" of wire on both ends of wire, prefill the wire nut with sealant, insert wires and twist tight. NO copper should be showing, re-bury

What if I want to expand my fence?
Hidden Fence Company can expand your existing wire, re-route it or add garden loops.

Some simple hints to find out if your fence components are working prior to calling for service:

Collar receivers

  1. Be sure that you have a good battery installed
  2. Hold the receiver in close proximity to the bottom of the transmitter (do not hold onto the probes or you will no first hand if it is working or not) it should beep. If not check the transmitter to insure it is in working order and than star over.

Transmitter

  1. Check to see if there are any lights on the transmitter

  2. If not make certain you have electricity to the outlet. If you do not then check for a tripped ground fault receptacle or a tripped circut breaker or just call your electrician.

  3.  If you have electricity and the indicator lights are on, unhook one of the boundary wires (no worry you can't get shocked from the boundary wires) your transmitter should emitt a beep indicating a wire break.
  4. If no beep and lights remain on you probably got hit by lightning. Contact Hidden Fence Company to schedule a repair.
  5. If it beeps re-connect the boundary wire. your transmitter is working.
  6. Re-check your receiver

Broken wire

  1. Unplug your system and use an OHM meter if you have one. You should get reading of less than 8 Ohms if professionally installed ( I like to see it near 3 Ohms) If not proceed to #2
  2. If your transmitter is indicating a wire break simply unhook the boundary wires and insert a short wire loop ( you can use a paper-clip if you don't have a small piece of wire)
  3. Once inserted the indicator should stop beeping. If this happens your transmitter is working and you most likely have a wire break. Call for Service
